I've stumbled upon this article (link: www.thestar.com/entertainment/theatre/article/810059--ouzounian-what-s-gay-got-to-do-with-acting ) and I think the writer is so right! Why does it matter if an actor/actress is gay/lesbian/whatever for the role he/she plays? We don't question if "straight" actors can play gay/lesbian/etc. Or do we ever expect an actor/actress who plays a let's say character with a severe illness to actually have that illness? They are actors for crying out loud! Their love interest has nothing to do with the acting!
