Sooo tired. Home at last, though.

Got home tonight at 9:30. I had a massage in the afternoon, which mean I had a couple of hours I needed to make up, and then there was rush-hour traffic. But the massage--with TKO massage oil--was just what I needed after the concert on Wednesday (too much standing) and the stressful couple of weeks I've had.

I got most of what I needed to do completed, although I will probably work on Sunday because I'm still a bit behind. Next week is the final week to close on a project in time to please my new manager, and there's transition stuff, other things for other projects to handle, and the usual things that will occur as the holiday nears.

*braces for the push next week*

Tomorrow, however, I have some fun planned with my buddy Dan. We're going to IMAX to see Harry Potter, whee! And possibly out for a meal after, but that depends on my energy.

The Deck the Hall Ball was fun--The Black Keys are omg! so, so awesome live that I can't believe it, and Jimmy Eat World gave their usual solid, high-energy, crowd-pleasing performance. Cake was enjoyable. Surprise appearance by The Presidents of the United States was fun--they sang "Mr Heat Miser". Sleigh Bells was bad to a horrendously impressive degree. Broken Bells, which played last, didn't hold my attention. I left, exhausted, during their fourth song. I think the show was just too long for me after a work day in a tough week.

Thursday I was tension headachey, even though I slept in a bit. I had to see my second mother off at the airport for a sad reason: her 92-year-old mother died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday. I'm melancholy--I considered her my grandmother still even though we weren't super close. She was very kind to me after my son died. Her passing was a blessing, however, because her quality of life started to go downhill the past two years.

family, work
