So, you may remember that I recently started working at a Quilt Shop (Material Girls) that is much closer to my house than the Fabulous Haberman Fabrics. While we don’t carry linen, silk and wool, the high quality cotton prints are amazing. They are so much more tightly woven, and finer than what you get from JoAnn’s.

So I started to think about making more garb. I began looking at some odd early ren dresses with front lacing and odd collars. Then I found this cool "Laced Mourning Coat" in Alcega. It has a loose back that is laced up underneath, like a sacque back gown without the pleats.

So this doesn't really count as a UFO, but chris did ask me to work on it may be a few months ago. So I finally got around to adding lacing to the back of his waistcoat. Luckily there are examples in period of waistcoats with lacing the back. This is good, because the back was pulled in by at least 4 inches.

I just wanted to share this video that I took on Sunday of the re-enactment at Fort Niagara when the French reinforcements are ambushed by the British.

Had lots of fun at Niagra this weekend. Mostly due to the fact that CJ & I stayed with my in-Laws, whom I adore, in their motor home at 4 mile creek park.
