Michigan Renaissance Festival part 1

Aug 25, 2014 22:34

Sunday, my friend (she’s more like a cousin, or step sister) Jackie of Literary Escapism, and I, went to the Michigan Renaissance Festival. It was the first time I’ve gone as an adult without my husband and/or son. It was so nice to just wander, watch the shows and not worry about anything. I even got to see Susan get married in the blue wedding dress I made for her. It was a beautiful ceremony. The most fun was the weekend’s theme, “Highland Games”. The games themselves were fun to watch, but wow, the “Men in Kilts”. The most adorable little guy in a kilt could hardly contain himself and kept wiggling his little bottom. He won the “pewee” category. The rest of the guys were pretty fun, and a few of them, well, were wearing their kilts in the traditional manner. Wowza!

I’m planning on going back next weekend as a family, with the Massachusetts Battalion F&I group. I don’t know what I’m going to wear yet, but it’s Pirate weekend. We’ll see how much sewing I can get done between now and then.
