no, I'm not the biggest dork I know (image heavy)

Really.

New plans for MidSouthCon costuming: I'm still doing Hige and while I'm Hige verbotenwidow will still be doing Kiba. However, instead of doing anything complicated (although if Llama still wants to I'll attempt to finish my minion outfit), I'm going for all-around comfort costumes. Since it's so ridiculously easy to put together on short notice, verbotenwidow, dirt_dragon and I are doing a Death Note group, with dirt_dragon as L (who we all wanted to do at first, of course... blah), verbotenwidow as Watari (in full Secret Agent disguise -- she already has a perfect coat, so it's just a matter of the hat), and me as Light (because no way in hell am I trying to do Misa or any of the shinigami, although Rem would be pretty awesome). I just got a haircut for when I do Hige, so it's nice and short and basically the right color -- just have to straighten it and do the bangs-in-face preppy side-swish thing. I will feel like every guy I went to high school with. Shoot me now. >_<

A question, though: Do I concede the fact that I'm too curvy to ever, ever pull off an exact replica of Light's usual outfits, and wear my only white button-up, which is a women's cut:

Or do I go with a men's button-up with optional red tie for accuracy's sake? I already have brown dress shoes and khaki slacks, so it's all in the shirt now. I'm not going to do a jacket purely because I've done Scully in a full business suit plenty of times before and I've had my fill of being sweaty and restricted, thanks.

And yes, if you were wondering, I am holding a homemade Death Note.

By the way, since I took those I've already gone so far as to watch the end of episode one again, erase the English in my book and copy out Kurou's name in kanji instead. *headdesk*

Anyway, there's my Death Noting for the day. I think I'm getting a plot bunny and at this point I'm just resigned to let it happen. I give up trying to regulate my fandoms, it just doesn't work.

Doodle time!

War Prayer character studies... First, Sane!Mattias:

And then end-of-chapter-three Mattias, sans tattoos (I'm lazy and I didn't have a reference):

And lastly, for no reason whatsoever, a Lucciola study that I became rather fond of despite it not actually looking much like him:

The end. I go eat now.
