Thank goodness that emotional mess didn't last long. Big thanks and big hugs to you guys who commented -- it made me feel just that little bit better enough that I could go to sleep with no trouble, which made the next day so much better than it would have been, and things just snowballed uphill from there (metaphors defy physics, cut me some slack). So... (((everyone))). ^_^.
(Oh yeah, and thanks for Hellsing 7, terion -- may I just say, 'Wahhh, not Pip!' and also, 'Yay, Dark Walter!' XD)
Just got home from a math & science competition in Jackson -- we left yesterday & competed today (it's a four-hour drive both ways). It was soooooo much fun. For a mid-sized school doing this higher-level competition for the first time ever, clueless and underprepared, we did really, really well. Not that we in any way compared to the schools that actually won, but hey, by our own standards? Not too shabby. Brandon even got a medal -- third-place, but it's a medal, man! I would've gotten a certificate for top 20% if I'd gotten one more question right on the Biology test (cutoff was 54 correct out of 100, and I had 53), but sadly, no. Too much anatomy & physiology. We only studied basic biology beforehand -- cell structures and cycles, classification, etc -- because we didn't know what to expect. Now we know better, so, hey, all to the good.
I also took the Chemistry test, though, and can I just say aaaaarrrrrreeeeghjgad;fadifasdjgklajfhdslgvbkmsadfklgajkkkk. 19 correct out of 60. That crap was INSANE. No more of that for me. Freakin' molarity. *shudder*
Played Mafia on the bus all the way there; sang Disney songs all the way back. Ate at Applebee's and Cody told the staff it was Melissa's birthday (it wasn't), so we got serenaded, but she got free ice cream, so she didn't complain (much). XD Brandon tried to order a regular strawberry daiquiri, but our waiter was utterly unfoolable. (Not that Brandon could fool a dead cow, but you know.) So virgin daiquiris it was.
Can't sleep worth crap in hotels, or in shared beds; ended up on the floor just so I could sprawl more. So now I'm running on three hours of poor sleep, one 20-minute power nap on the bus, a Milky Way and some Starbursts. And I think they're all almost gone, so I will quit my inane rambling and go to bed now before I collapse.
A blessing for everyone: Be thou not haunted by equations in thy dreams (as I will surely be).
