First Update: San Francisco
First things first. I have been corrected - I was staying in Berkeley which is not San Francisco but a city in it's own right. Several people informed me that Berkeley doesn't need San Francisco for validation. They all lived in Berkeley.
The trip got off to a rough start with a short panic about not having the street address for Merry's place on me because apparently you need the exact address of the place you're visiting before they'll let you into the country now. I thought of useing 123 Road St. like I do on all my internet forms but didn't think I could get away with it :P That panic was followed by the customs computer system being down and a two hour wait in line. Know how they always tell you to get to the airport early... Anyway, I was stuck in line with the rest of the people going to San Fran so they held the plane *whew*
Merry picked me up at the airport and we got lost on the way home and then proceeded to have an excellent Italian dinner followed by crapes as we wandered around a very flat part of San Fran. We were later informed by a local that we had discovered Union square which is quite a happening area. Go us!
With the aid of a map we found our way to Berkeley and I was introduced to Merry and her bro's cat Alchina. World's third fourth cutest cat. Beind Joey, Apollo, and Elliot. She was very friendly.
We split a bottle of champagne while playing a card game and then headed to sleep.
