I never used to be a shoe girl. I hated trying them on, rejecting them, looking at ugly shoes, etc. All that changed when I needed a pair of shoes for graduation. I ended up getting 2 pairs of shoes. A basic pair of white shoes with a pointy toe and about 3 inch heels and a pair of red patent leather shoes with a peeptoe and 4 inch heels. Those pair of shoes started my love affair with shoes. Since then, I've run out of floor space in my closet because I have too many shoes. Too many for the closet anyway. 20 pairs hardly counts as too many.
Winter is approaching fast, and that means I need practical shoes. Wait, let me rephrase. I need closed-toed shoes; they don't need to be practical. I've always wanted to own a pair of boots, and winter was a perfect excuse.
I looked at
this pair of boots last week, but opted not to get them. They didn't have them in my size and thus were a little tight. One of my favorite details about the boots is the fact that they zip up the back. It's an unexpected detail that makes the boots sexy.
I also looked at
this pair of boots. Unfortunately, even when the shoe part fit, the boot part felt like they were going to fall off my feet. So I didn't get those.
I also tried on
these, but decided that boots feel weird. There's random extra material that has to be there, otherwise your feet would be strangled, but the material doesn't necessarily work when you're trying to walk.
Naturally I had to try on a pair of fuck-me boots, which were phenomenal but not at all comfortable. Sadly I couldn't find a picture of them online to show you. The leather was ribbed up the back and stretched for comfort. The look was completed with a belt at the ankle, pointy toes, and a high heel. Beautiful, but not at all practical.
I ended up going back to Aldo and getting
these. They're cute and slightly practical and I'm sure I'll get good use out of them.
Now I have to get some practical winter dress shoes.
