Taylor convinced me--by sheer annoyance--to watch this anime called Fairy Tail.

And as of right now, I don't regret a single moment wasted watching it. I LOVE IT!

I love the characters so much!

SPOILERS AHOY, SO DON'TREADIFYOUHAVENTSEENITORCARE.

I like Lucy because she's so  N O R M A L despite being the daughter of a rich family! And I like that despite her incredible magic (Celestial Mage), all of her Silver Keys and Gold Keys have humorous looks. They're aren't all powerful and they say amazingly funny things. ("MMMMMMMMOSHIMOSHI~!" "EBI~!"...and of course, Plue [RAAVEEEALUTIIIIOONNNN].)

So far, Loke is by far my favorite. I liked him before I found out he was the Key of Leo. I think despite the fact that he tries to pose as a lady killer, he truly has an amazing heart, and I really think he loves Lucy after she proved how much she cared about him when finding out about his previous owner. I liked his Urban wear--those blue shades are pretty slick on him. But now that he's returned to the spirit world, I like his snazzy business suit look. Makes him look like he's part of the Secret Service. And while I -was- all for Natsu and Lucy...I'm a fangirl for Loke. @_@

Each character--even the minor ones--have such diverse and amazing abilities. Cana can use her magic with cards. Warren is telepathic. Mirajane uses Take Over magic, which is similar to a mix between posession and shape-shifting depending on your level of magic. Erza is a complete badass--her magic is equipping armor and weapons. She has a shit-load of outfits and weaponry she can willfully change between depending on the occasion or situation. Gray is a Ice Magic user who specializes in Static Make Magic. He can make things out of his ice that don't move, but that he can use. Natsu has Fire Dragon Slayer magic that he learned from his "father" figure, the Dragon Igneel. Gajeel uses Iron Dragon Slayer magic, which is the same as Natsu's, only with the element Steel. Juvia's body is made of Water, and she can manipulate it to her Will. She has a thing for Gray, but she thinks Gray likes Lucy so she sees Lucy as a Rival.

Alzack is another one I like. He and his partner look like western outlaws, and they have Gun magic that they use which is REALLY cool to see. Levy-chan is another one I look. She's a bit of a book worm/researcher. But she's just so darn cute! She specializes in written magic. Anything that she writes, she can make you feel or experience. If she were to write pain and direct it at you, you would feel pain.

I like this show because there's something for -every-one. It's not just specific elements, but there's so many diverse kinds of magic!

I also like to see the usual archetypes: The hardheaded, destructive, carefree hero. His rival and friend. His ultimate strong comrade. His heroine counterpart. The old master. The stern old woman. The devious mastermind that no one saw coming. The motherly figure. The faithful creature-sidekick. The childhood friend. The big brother. The mysterious enigma. The ignorant, power-seeking family member. The list goes on and on and on. But I like the way it's all woven together.

Back to Lucy, the main character. I like her because she's not completely helpless, either. She doesn't pull some impossible solution out of her ass at the last minute. She has logical obstacles and worries and concerns. She is torn between saving her friends, and staying true to how she feels versus how her estranged father wants her to feel. She has a realistic goal--to be a writer, and has fears like people reading her work before it's finished. She realizes that she has the strength to stick to the people who truly accept her after the siege her father set up to have her kidnapped and returned home; none of the Fairy Tail Guild would surrender her. Once she saw that they truly cared, not just for her, but for each other, she chose to stay with them. They all risked their lives to protect her, and she cherished that. Even Locke, who was terrified that she would be like his previous owner, saw how strong she was, that she truly cared and wasn't just some rich girl.

>.> Did I mention how amazing Loke is? He looks like a younger Kurosaki Ichigo, only with blue shades. TT.TT So amazing... [ Melted ]

Oh yeah, that's another thing. All these characters remind me of other characters. When the master was younger, he looked like a Super Saiyan with his yellow hair stickin' up like a troll. Gajeel looks like Gogeta, Loke looks like Ichigo. Plue is the same Plue from Rave Master (The same creator of Fairy Tail did Rave Master).

I wish the series were simple to explain. But there's so many layers to it. From the relationship of the characters, to the levels of magic, and the plot in the plot in the plot.

AND MYSTOGAN. MR. SHY SUPER POWERFUL MYSTERY MAN WHO NEVER SHOWS HIS FACE UNTIL LAXUS ATTACKS HIM. LOOKS LIKE JELLAL, WHO WAS POSESSED BY SOME EVIL MAGE'S SPIRIT AND SUPPOSEDLY DIED. BUT HE SAID HE ISN'T JELLAL. SO DID HE REALLY HAVE A TWIN BROTHER OR IS HE JUST LYING?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? ;.; I am obsessed with knowing.

Forgive my randomness. I've been drinking a Monster Khaos on and off all day. I AM GOING TO FINISH ALL 70 EPISODES OF THIS ANIME OR SO HELP ME. [ Marched away to continue. ]

P.S. The backstory to Lucy's name is that her parents were part of a guild called Love and Lucky. One day the K fell off, so they named their daughter Lucy.

...so is it weird that I think there's a coincidence between Loke and Lucy, and Love and Lucky, and Loke's supposed love for Lucy? v.v I look into things too much.

o:??? How does a Spirit and a Mage work things out if they're in love with each other...? [ Wandered off, pondering. ]

>.> Here. Enjoy my new pixelated obsession.
