weekend...

Saturday? Early farmer's market, followed by picking/processing green beans at home. Then, T and I were off to Burlington to meet ravgonfly and see Carbon Leaf, who are just as cute as they were 4 years ago or so when I saw them last. They still sound great, but fewer "traditional" instruments this time...maybe because it was an outdoor show and they didn't want to bother with tuning bagpipes or bodhrans for one set. Afterwards, we wandered down Church Street and had tasty burgers and drinks, and then dragged off home. I'm glad the late-night walk back to home and vehicles was downhill! It was great to catch up after so long... *raises glass* Here's to next time!!

Sunday? Lazy sleeping in, followed by blueberry pancakes. Mmmmmm. And then...well, the original plan was to pick up a crate of peaches at the 1782 Settlement Farm out in Middlesex, bring it home, and then go out to the community garden to weed, collect the onions, maybe pick some corn if it's ready, that sort of thing. What actually happened? The nice people at the Settlement Farm sold me a crate full of peaches that were actually ripe. Really, they were bordering on dead ripe, such that they were wonderful that day, and might be okay for another day or so at room temp, but that my normal plan of leisurely peach preservation over the course of several days was not going to work. So now, there is peach pie (made by T), and there are 3 quarts of peach slices, and 6 pints of brandied peach slices, and 5 half-pints of peach jam, and one very tired girl who never did make it out to the community garden.

In other news, T has a new job! The only thing remaining is the likely-to-be-ugly two-weeks-notice conversation with the current boss. Yick.
