Thanksgiving mishap
Nature is not my friend today. Sure, the weather is gorgeous and I'm way ahead of schedule and everything is pretty much done and the turkey is in the oven roasting away. It seemed like everything was pretty perfect except that we had the brilliant idea of putting the baked goods out on the deck (covered, I will insist) to keep them out of the way while I was busy cooking and cleaning. I went out fifteen minutes later to find out that one of our neighborhood squirrels helped himself to a peice of pear and almond tart.
Needless to say, I'm more than a little perturbed.
Luna is outside now standing guard (with permission to kill anything that comes into our territory) and my poor chewed up tart is now hidden away. Will save it for ourselves to have over the weekend, but am now short a dessert. Have asked one of our guests to bring something.
Really need to shower now...
