Well, this is infuriating:

They threw him out in the cold, with no coat, in the face of an oncoming storm. I have no idea why; apparently, neither does he. What I do know is that this behaviour is ...inhuman.

She knows what the cold means, and therefore invokes the Wendigo in completely terrifying and appropriate ways.
I'm not sure I will ever understand this place I think I live in now. Every time I take an even slightly deeper breath and start to relax, the ground beneath me shakes out any certainty I had left.
