Remind me

Wow. I feel so Country today. I'm in my bluejeans, an old Wrangler felt button-up shirt that used to belong to Gabe's dad, black boots (I wish I had cowboy boots, but I have to stick to my black combat boots for now)...all I need is a giant belt buckle and a hat! ^_^
Two pieces of "omg rock!" weight news hit me yesterday: I'm too small to shop at Fashion Bug *giggles* and I weigh less than Gabe now! ((o_O)) I'm down to 182, and he's at 185! Mind boggling. So I felt awfully good about myself yesterday. But that's all I'll be saying about that, since I'm sure everyone out there is sick to death of hearing about my weight.

So then....Okay, has everyone seen that GEICO commercial with the caveman in the airport? I know I'm not the only person who was instantly hooked by the song they used. I did a teeny bit of hunting and found out that the song is actually a Muzak-type remake of a song called "Remind Me" by a band from (I'm pretty sure) Sweden called Royksopp (with the umlaut above the first O). I went to their website, looked up the video, and proceeded to get my ears knocked off by the awesomeness of the original song! So now I need to go hunting for their CD. Grrrr. Uber-melodic synth music!!

I've also become a Lost fangirl. *winces and hides her face* Can't help it. prince_aries loaned me his DVD sets of Seasons 1 and 2, and Gabe and I have been watching them through. (we don't watch it on TV, because it's even odds we'll miss half the episodes when they're on, and then we're missing stuff! So we're watching it through one season at a time on DVD. Easier that way. And then you don't lose track of what's going on in between episodes!) I really didn't think that "they" (a.k.a the Hollywood TV-show-making folks) had the ability to make good television anymore, but this show has been proving me wrong. For all that it's a prime-time soap opera, it's an intelligent prime-time soap opera, that's also a mystery, adventure, drama, mild comedy, and backdoor thriller all at the same time. The cast is terrific, the writing is amazing, the directing is superb. I haven't had this sort of reaction to an American-made television show since Battlestar Galactica! And before that.....hmm....Quantum Leap, I think. But yeah. Anyway. On our way downtown today, we passed by Daydreams (the "comic shop" that's slowly becoming the "everything you can be a fanboy/fangirl about" shop) and in the window we saw Lost figurines sculpted by none other than Todd McFarlane. Needless to say, they rocked. So I succumbed to the temptation and bought two. (One for me, and one for the person whose fault it is I'm into Lost in the first place!!) I can't decide which one to keep and which one to give as the gift....dammit.

Um....I'm off to the Peterstone website to see if I can find my wedding ring there. I've gone to two stores in town that carry Peterstone rings in the hopes that one of them could order mine (I need a smaller size...my handfasting ring doesn't fit me anymore, and it'll cost about the same to buy a new one as to get this one resized), but neither store has gotten back to me yet. So I'm just going to go to the source and hope I can find it there. *crosses fingers*
