So I had a second interview today with the district manager with J&B, which is the local Friendly's Franchisee. The interview lasted about 5 minutes, and he made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I start 2 weeks from today. I went to CEC to tell Daniel. It was Gary's first day back, and I told him I was there to put in my 2 weeks notice. He was mildly upset lol...Hknows he's gonna be working harder until the other Gary finds a replacement. Daniel totally understood, and although he didn't want me to go, he wished me luck and gave me his usual advice. It's hard to believe that guy is younger than I am lol... anyway, he suggested that I talk to gary and ask him for more money and see what he says. The thing is, the amount of money it would take to get me to stay at cec is way more thanwhat Friendly's offered me. The good people at Friendly's don't know what I am capable of, outside what I wrote on my resume, and until they see me in action, that's all lip service. CEC, on the other hand, has seen me operate for 6 years. They know what I am capable of, and what I have accomplished in my career. They need to be willing to pay me if they want me to stay. I have to call Gary the DM tomorrow and let him know. If he makes me a big enough offer, I will reconsider my position, and maybe possibly stay. I don't know. Part of me feels good about the decision, but part of me is going to miss it. not all of it...just certain things. I'll post more about that another time.
