Friday
I met some friends for dinner at Hula Girl in Arlington before joining a number of them at a burlesque performance by Maeve at the Bier Baron.
Met:
Alex- More of the ‘normal’ type than many we associated with. Seemed slightly confused at the themes of the conversations we were having but not too overwhelmed. Well built with facial hair. Friendly and seemed open minded.
Tony- I met him at Spellbound the previous weekend but this was sort of a remeeting. I keep calling him Andy accidently. Currently dating Jenni. Likes video games(especially Fallout: New Vegas), playing the guitar and hitting the gym. Also likes hugs.
Saturday
I went to Krampusnacht first, meeting Cassandra and Putz there.. With my cane, red suit and painted dragon mask I was able to fake a somewhat-costume somewhat-convincingly. I received several compliments, including from the more monstrous krampi, so it must have looked at least somewhat okay. I think I may have unintentionally party crashed in this regard but nobody said anything. A very surreal and enjoyavle experience, walking around with a tribe of demons in the middle of the city with police escort.
Spellbound was after that. A quiet night, for the most part, but I did meet and chat with quite a number of people there.
Met:
Casey- Chipper redhead. Nice décolletage. We didn’t speak much
Poison(remet?)- Tall blonde. Genial. We didn’t speak much.
Miriam- German visiting on a work visa working as an “opair”, which is someone who takes care of children. She was initially underwhelmed by the music but started to like it later on. Quiet but amiable. Taught me the correct but somewhat silly-sounding way to pronounce ‘Blutengel’.
Sophie- English accent. Quite pleasant, smooth mannerisms and elegant dress. Likes making clothing and does intricate crafting.
Justin- Sophie’s boyfriend. Highly enthusiastic and dresses formally. Slightly overbearing/self-congradulatory mannerisms. Really likes Batman.
Brian- Younger, tall, slender fellow. Dressed in a skeleton shirt. Says he is really into paganism and his actions are affected by vibes he gets from his surroundings and other people.
Zoy- Friend of Darkness. Short female. Scandinavian origin? More normal attire, but very outgoing.
Despite the pleasant evening I ended up feeling pretty crappy after going home, some mix of emotional goo flavored with touches of disappointment and despair not helped, I am certain, by a general lack of sleep. It lingered on in smaller doses through the next day.
Sunday
Went to practice in the morning and fought with one sword due to my hand injury. Still managed to do a pretty good job. Nick and Brian then joined me to help my parents move their furniture downstairs. Afterward I did laundry and watched “The Kingsman” before eventually falling asleep on the couch cuddling with Fé.
Tonight I am planning on cleaning, doing yoga, hitting the gym and practicing on my keytar.. all while trying to be pretty relaxed out it. Minimal internet use and no excessive eating are the primary goals. I will likely let myself watch a little of Jessica Jones since I am near the end of the season, but there will be plenty of work to account for it.
