Damn Strike.

Ugh, everyone, where did your TV tastes go? It seems like almost every show is seriously down in the ratings, and some on the verge of cancellation. Lets start with two shows I have little interest in (not for lack of trying). Both The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Chuck are way below their 2007 averages. SCC is rumored to be on the chopping block. I know technically, because I don't watch it, it's partly my fault, but I wasn't a viewer last season. So where did all those missing viewers go? I doubt they went to Chuck, because that's down something like 15% since last season. I'm going to blame Dancing with the Stars, just because it's airing opposite both shows and is getting like 18 million viewers.

Then there are two shows I actually watch: Heroes and Pushing Daisies. The former had a really rough second season, full of crappy characters and time travel. But seriously, that's over. It's back to it's first season super-hero craziness! Which is good! But people have called it quits/are calling it quits. Anyone who's seen any of the three episodes this season with an open mind can see it's back to the original quality. The show, IMO was never award worthy, and it had it's WTF moments. Why few else saw it that way is beyond me, but seems those people have reconsidered their original stance on the show. Because now nuclear superheros and time travel is too outlandish for a show about superpowers. *sigh* And I'm actually worried for the show. I don't think NBC will axe it mid-season, but if it keeps up this horrific pace, I don't see it coming back next year, which, depending how this season goes, could be bad. Again, Dancing with the Stars gets the blame on that one, too.

And then there's Pushing Daisies, a show after my own heart. It's amazing! Colors! Sweetness! Fairy Tale! Narrator! I'm really upset it's losing viewers every week, with the premiere down almost 3 mill from last season's average. It's so whimsical and wonderful and magical! I'm in love, but if the show continues to hemorrhage viewers, it'll end before Fuller can create a way for Ned and Chuck to touch again! Though touching may not become that big a problem, since *small spoiler* Fuller's going into innovative way for the two to have sex. *end spoiler* It's just so sad that a show that premiered well above expectations is starting to tank.

Speaking of tank, Dirty Sexy Money, a show with a dumb titles with titillating stories is falling victim to the post-strike viewer loss. I always felt this show never got the attention it deserved. It's a really good quality guilty pleasure with mystery and sex and fun. I'm recommending it for everyone.

So wrapping up, are any of you lost viewers due to the extended hiatuses of these shows? Do you, like me, think withholding the shows until fall was a complete disaster? Are you doing your part to tell every single person you meet to watch these falling shows? I know I'm putting up a Pushing Daisies print-out in my cubicle. Just doing my part.

Maybe TV reviews coming up. Bottom lines, I enjoyed Heroes a lot this week, delivering it's strongest ep this season; Dexter is so juicy it's scary; and I watched Life, and enjoyed it a lot. I may have to watch regularly seeing as it's having major ratings problems, too.

real life, work, dexter, chuck, the sarah connor chronicles, heroes, dirty sexy money, pushing daisies, cancellation, dancing with the stars
