Ok, so since my last post, I saw two more pilots.
Someone I knew said this was like Lost and I had initially rolled my eyes, because she said everything was like Lost (aka bad.) But after watching this show, it really was like Lost, except without the island. It's like a character driven drama without a whole lot of drama. I personally wasn't intrigued, I guess it seemed too ordinary. I know I'll never be held up in a bank, but the connecting plot just seemed too plain. Lost you have the island and that's insanely cool. I just didn't really get into it. It wasn't a bad show, just I couldn't connect. I'm sure others will like it
So this is what goes on on SNL! Now I've read recently that there's been some backlash against this show, but I personally loved it. It had the same quick, snappy, and witty language that made the West Wing so brilliant. This was a very insightful look into free speech and the media today. Censorship is very interesting to me and this was a very opinionated window into it. There were numerous West Wing actors put into the pilot. The only one who seemed to have played similar characters was Bradley Whitford. But then again, it was tough to tell just from this one episode. I will definitely keep to watching this show as long as the quality keeps up.
