SPN 5x09, TVD 1x09
Okay, so in the beginning, I still thought it would be funny. I loved the merchandise, and as I said elsewhere, I so want one of those "got salt" shirts! But then they started with the actual fans. Yeah... now Mike's gotta think I am a complete and utter freak because I've been to two conventions. And for all he knows, convention means LARPing and being a complete idiot.
And then they went for the big kill. The "German fan". I am seriously offended. Not even kidding. What??? Are you shitting me? Nobody talks like that! Nobody! (Please tell me I don't talk like that??? I might not be able to pronounce a perfect th, but I am not saying vat and zat.) And then they called him Fritz. And he said "Gott im Himmel". You guys. It's the times of the internet. That means global. So please for the love of language, google. Or wiki. Or just ask on a board. (This also goes out to Marvel authors butchering Kurt.) Ask for believable German names and phrases. Do not get stuck on US movies made in the 40s.
So, yeah. That just pissed me off. Also made me wonder, Canadian stereotypes are made fun of a lot, including language. Do Canadians get pissed off at that as well? It's only the British who come out good. They're well-groomed, polite and have a sexy accent. Usually they're royalty, too. (So I get why Misha was disappointed there was none at Asylum. Just remembered because they showed that clip from his panel at HH.)
Anyhows, back to the ep. It could have been worse. It had a few funny moments. But all in all? Please just drop the meta shit already. I was still positive before, but now I am over it. And the gay couple in the end? Would have been sweet, also fun, if you hadn't completely fucked that up by making them ridiculously fluffy schmoopy TV-gay. Head on shoulder and blinking? Aw, come on! That was offensive, too.
I liked the twist in the ghost story. I also liked Chuck pining after the fangirl. My favorite part of the ep was in the end, when Sam told him it was okay to publish the books, and yeah, no, not really. "We have guns. We will find you." *lmao* I loved that part!
And all in all I enjoyed the ep. Just... ack, still pisses me off.
I liked The Vampire Diaries a lot better! The story itself was crap, but all the Stefan/Damon scenes! OMG!! It's like now are the eps after they realized we're all shipping the boys like crazy, so they give us fodder. They have never been as playful together as in this ep. And you can't tell me Stefan was just playing to find out the secret master plan. They were honestly having fun. And you could make so many, many icons out of this ep! Both of them stargazing, or just generally being close and smiling. Flirting! :)
And aw, the end! Aww, Damon! I would have liked you better, if you'd broken the witch's neck though. I know you wanted to. I know you would have. But alas, the actress must have been signed on for the full season. And I still see het ship potential. Still. All the girls pissed me off this ep. Pathetic and whiny and jumpy and ugh. Where's my strong female role model? Oh wait... we got Stefan. ;)
So, back to Damon. So... he knew Katherine was also sleeping with his brother and didn't care, huh? And he was all on board with her plan to keep the both of them? Aha. Just like we always knew you were. Hah, I so need to expand my Stefan/Damon fic horizon and read others aside from thenyxie. I never shipped any of the other brother pairings, but here I am jumping right in.
