Elizabeth didn't usually let herself think about hind sight or about how some things might have changed in life if you just changed one action or phrase.
What If...
What if she hadn't decided to lie on that fateful night when the Black Pearl and its crew had attacked Port Royal? Would the events that happened afterwards still have taken place? Would she still have been kidnapped by Barbossa and his men? Would Will still have had to break Jack out of jail to come rescue her?
What if she hadn't lied all of those years ago and hidden the pirate necklace that she had found on Will when they rescued him from the sea as a child? What would that have changed? Would she and Will have still grown up together? Would they still have formed the bond that they did?
Would they still be in love like they were now?
There were too many things that might have changed if the wind had blown a different way or if the sea had led all of them on a different course.
She just didn't have time to dwell on any "What If's".
She had a life in the here and now to lead.
A life that wouldn't be right without Will in it.
