and in the meantime i had myself a delicious breakfast; straightened out my bathroom and LET THE HOLE DISPAIR IN THE CENTER OF MY BEING GROW A LITTLE BIT MORE1
in the meantime i also drew this picture; note: not finished but at this pace i won't be done til somewhere tomorrow. a. i am impatient about these types of things b. my hand is cramped

colombian drug lord now? when did this happen people? between not caring about his looks and attending movie premieres, making movies?? listen dude, what do you need that everyone else could do with less of? Cocaine or a mirror? (JUST NOT BOTH)
But seriously people, tell me what
THIS SHIT is about. NO wait, I think I have an idea.
"Unborn U.S. babies are soaking in a stew of chemicals, including mercury, gasoline byproducts and pesticides, according to a report released on Thursday.
[…]
“Of the 287 chemicals we detected in umbilical-cord blood, we know that 180 cause cancer in humans or animals, 217 are toxic to the brain and nervous system, and 208 cause birth defects or abnormal development in animal tests,” the report said."
[...]
"The stunning results show chemicals daily pumping through my vital organs that include PCBs that were banned decades ago as well as chemicals like Teflon that are currently under federal investigation,"
Alright, this is what really irks me, you can't find whole milk yogurt A N Y W H E R E anymore, all this shit is low-fat or fat-free but you know what? its this insane mentality of "the thinner i look, the healthier i am, so I don't even have to read the labels anymore and ignore the fact that i am pumping these chemicals into my body and then act surprised when I give birth to SLOTH," right? Only that products that aren't reworked so that every last bit of fat is sucked out are actually healthier for you in the long run. Drinking whole milk is actually healthier to white water. Whoops, there's a surprise.
This isn't just a food thing; so while this fear-for-health revolution is going on, I think at I've at least got my own fears in the right place; so here are some plugs for things I've found to be pretty useful
MoonCup(sorry guys) and Mineral deodorants2, among other natural hygeine products.
"Rayon (for absorbency) and dioxin (a chemical used in bleaching the products). The tampon industry is convinced that we, as women, need bleached white products - they seem to think that we view the product as pure and clean. The problem here is that the dioxin produced in this bleaching process can lead to very harmful problems for a woman.
Dioxin is potentially carcinogenic (cancer-associated) and is toxic to the immune and reproductive systems. It has been linked to endometriosis as well as lower sperm counts for men - for both, it breaks down the immune system. Last September the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reported that there really is no set "acceptable" level of exposure to dioxin - given that it is cumulative and slow to disintegrate, the real danger comes from repeated contact (Karen Houppert "Pulling the Plug on the Tampon Industry"). I'd say using about 4 tampons a day, 6 hours a day, five days a month, for 38 menstruating years is "repeated contact", wouldn't you?
Rayon contributes to the danger of tampons and dioxin because it is a highly absorbent substance and therefore when fibers from the tampons are left behind in the vagina (as usually occurs), it creates a breeding ground for the dioxin, and stays in a lot longer than it would with just cotton tampons. This is also the reason why TSS (toxic shock syndrome) occurs."
ok, basically, we are not hewn from stone people, we need to pay a little ATTENTION.
1 see today's
Cat and Girl 2 i would like to point out that i am not a dirty hippie because i am in fact cleaner than you.
3 Paul, remember when you said you'd ask your dad where he found Holy Snake People (or whatever it's called) because I totally need you to do that, or maybe I should just check the library but also I have this other documentary about living Haitian voodoo gods and it would make a nice back to back movie thing.
