Missing Cat ??

Nov 22, 2008 16:52

Today I went to Port Macquarie (30 miles/50km) away, to collect a piece of furniture and check the used car lots. No deal as far as cars go. As I was just entering the outskirts of town on the return trip, I received a call from The Woman - she’d been called out by an elderly neighbour who had some sort of problem, and could I hurry up.

The problem turned out to be a young cat hiding or trapped under the culvert outside a neighbour’s home. By the time I arrived, a young man passing by had helped get the cat out, and the only thing to decide was ‘what to do with it?’

Being the hard-hearted, ruthless bastards that we are, we took the cat home and fed it. And gave it a few pats. And all that stuff. As I write this, the cat has been inside since 12.30PM, it’s now 4.30PM, and the cat is curled up on the lounge, smirking contentedly. Of course, Starr hasn’t come in yet, that may be interesting and possibly bloody. We’ll see.

As far as I know, no-one’s missing a cat. If by next week there is still no-one missing a cat, I suppose (Starr permitting) we might have a new cat. This one looks like an ocelot.
