CITY.

So I got wasted at Berlin and had a super sweet lady walk me home. I couldn't remember much the next day, but found a note in my pocket with a name and a number on it and finally remembered... it was this super tough punk lesbian and she held my hand and took care of me.

She's a drummer (a good one) for a semi-popular punk band in Chicago.
I found a picture of her and now I know why she was a safe person to be with...

no one in their right mind would mess with that.
she's tough, but a total sweetheart.

Yeah.
I was so out of it that I left my apartment unlocked and my phone on vibrate.
Apparently people were trying to get a hold of me (23 missed calls... no joke)
and so I woke up (still drunk) to my cousin standing next to my bed telling me people were worried.
ha. whoops. I love that she did that, but feel bad too. I'm like... no... i was just... sleeping. sorry.
In any case, the panic was originated around the fact that the "swine flu" or H1N1 infected my neighborhood.

So, long story (not so) short,
I drove back to Michigan.
And I'm here now.
To see what happens with stuff.

My mommy paid me $400 to come home. ha.
So I left quickly, in a daze. Traffic was god awful.
No, seriously... I think Chicago drivers aren't aware that side-swiping a vehicle is a bad thing.
Fireworks from the ball game didn't help their distraction.
I wonder what the heart attack rate is for folks on that drive... probably impressive.

I'm hoping it passes quickly like umm.. bird flu and maybe isn't as serious as it seems right now.

Now we're just waiting.
And I'm pretty sure I lost my second job there for it.
He said "I'm not judging your choice, but you know.. I have an HR guy who will have to make a decision"
And I get it. It's alright.

Things will work out eventually.

It's been a very crazy last couple of days.
