Got an interesting bit of news yesterday regarding our fledgling business,
Kozmic Designs. First, a little back story:
At Gaylaxicon 2007 back in October, we meet a lovely chap called Jody who was launching a new web community called
DoorQ (that's pronounced "dork", by the way). His site was planned for a Halloween launch, and was using G'con as a bit of a promo push.
Anyway, he said he really liked our stuff and wanted to do a photo shoot of his models wearing our shirts, for use by both DoorQ and Kozmic. Well, I thought that was pretty much cool in itself. So about three weeks ago we sent him a batch of our shirts.
A couple of days ago he sent me six of the photos he took (here's three of them)
I thought they came out really well. They aren't "product pictures", per se, which isn't what I expecting anyway; they're pictures of guys doing stuff in our shirts. A couple of them look sort of catalogue-y, which is great.
Jody was really pleased with the results and is doing a second shoot with them. He only emailed me a few; he's going to send a DVD with the whole collection after the second shoot. But the kicker is that he's also going to use them in an indie film they're going to start shooting at the end of this month. He says they're "bright and funny", and make a nice contrast to the dark themes of the film.
So how cool is that? Our stuff is going to be in a film!
