Heidi and I bought a laptop this weekend. 3.2 GHz, (going to be) 768 RAM, and a nice 15.4 TFT display... mmmmm. This will enable us not only to fight over the computer less, but also to do better in our classes. (My classes now, and hers next year if she gets into the philosophy Ph.D program.) You see, we (or at least, I) abhor caveman paper and the crude styluses used to mark upon it... ink pens, I believe you ruffians call them. Not only does the paper feel unnatural under my hand (not at all like a cool, plastic keyboard) (all misused language intentional), but it's painfully slow. By the time I've written down one important point in class, I've missed three more. But no longer! Today, I took outstanding notes in Mind and Action, with my ultra-fast typing skillz. Awww yeah. I might just get that Ph.D yet. (Or at least make it as far as the M.A. without washing out.)
Unfortunately, it set us back about 1000 dollars (we won't know exactly until we've tabulated our rebates)... so I won't be seeing an xbox 360 for a long while (unless I win one, which is a causally possible event, if exceedingly unlikely. But, that's no great harm, with Oblivion having been pushed back. If I can get one this summer, I'll be happy... and even if not, there'll almost certainly be a holiday price drop this time next year, and maybe I can snatch one up then.
(Yessir, I totally copied and pasted this from my
1up blog.)
