Jaejoong woke up from a dreamless sleep the next day. He started the day how he usually did: get up, shower, dress, eat, and brush his teeth. But instead of sitting on the couch contemplating on whether or not he should call Junsu and Yoochun to ask if he could still move in with them, he contemplated on whether or not he should go visit Yunho.
What would happen if he did see Yunho? Would he welcome Jaejoong with open arms or push him away? What if they were too awkward and somehow ended up in a huge argument? He hoped he’d be welcomed with open arms.
After about an hour of thinking about Yunho, Jaejoong finally got up from the couch and went to fix his hair. If he was going to see Yunho, he wanted to look presentable. Thirty minutes later, he was done and satisfied. He ended up spending another thirty minutes standing in front of the mirror; trying to smile normally and thinking of the things he could say when he visits Yunho.
Finally, the blonde sighed and headed for the university dorms. It would take about an hour and a half before he arrived.

“Yah! Yunho-hyung, wake up!” Changmin called as he entered Yunho’s room.
The male in question stirred and mumbled sleepily. “Why? I don’t have any classes today~ I wanna sleep~” Even though he was older, he really knew how to act like a child at times.
“So?” Changmin challenged. “You don’t really want to waste your day sleeping, do you?”
“Yes. I really do.”
Changmin sighed hopelessly at his supposed hyung. “Fine. Just don’t come crying to me when something- or someone- unexpected shows up and you look like a zombie.”
“Changmin. It’s a weekday and everyone we know either has classes or work,” Yunho argued as he sat up a little and rubbing his face tiredly. “Who’s going to visit our dorm?”
“Sure. What was I thinking,” Changmin muttered sarcastically. “Well, I’m gonna go now, Hyung. See ya later tonight.”
“See ya~” Yunho called back.
Once Changmin left, Yunho lied back down and tried to go back to sleep. After ten minutes of just lying there, he decided to get up since it didn’t look like he was going to fall asleep again. So he got up and took a long, hot shower. He’d dreamt about Jaejoong- which was one of the reasons he wanted to continue sleeping all day- and now he just wanted to forget about it.
When he finished, he heard a knock on the door and immediately wondered who the heck it could be… and if Changmin was somehow psychic that he knew someone would visit today. He quickly dried his legs and upper body before tying the towel around his waist and going to see who was at the door. He unlocked the door and opened it… shocked to see Jaejoong with his back turned to him and looking like he was about to walk away.
“Jaejoong-ah!” he sputtered, completely forgetting that he was only in a towel and his hair was the only part of him that was still dripping wet.
The blonde jumped and slowly turned around as if he was a kid in trouble and was about to be punished. As soon as he was turned around, Yunho could see the uncertainty and fear in the older boy’s eyes. “Hi… Yunho.”
“Hi~” Yunho hurriedly ushered him inside before Jaejoong could flee. He locked the door and turned to the other male. “So what brings you here?” he asked, trying a little too hard to sound casual.
“I just-” Jaejoong stopped; the words lodged in his throat as he finally noticed Yunho’s wet hair and the towel as the only piece of “clothing” on his body. “Y-Yunho…” he stuttered, pointing a shaky finger towards the taller male and blushing like mad. He gulped hard and turned away.
“What’s wrong?” Worry was etched all over Yunho’s face as he cautiously moved closer to the blonde.
“C-could you… Do you think..?” Jaejoong stumbled over his words, too embarrassed for the both of them to say anything properly.
“What?”
Jaejoong took a deep breath and- still not looking at the confused person in front of him- he said, “Put some clothes on!” practically shouting the words.
Yunho raised a severely confused eyebrow at the older male and spoke as intelligently as he could at that moment. “Huh?”
“You’re clad in only a towel. Please put some clothes on.”
The younger looked down at himself and saw the towel- which was hanging a little loose by now- and yelped in shock and embarrassment. “I’m sorry! I’ll go get dressed right now.” He dashed to his room and poked his head out. “Please wait a few minutes; don’t leave!”
With that, the door closed and all that could be heard was the banging of things being run into and Jaejoong just stared wide-eyed at the closed door before chuckling to himself. He forgot how funny the younger male could be when he was confused and flustered. About fifteen minutes later, Yunho calmly walked out of his room; completely dried, dressed, and hair fixed.
He saw that Jaejoong was still there and was sitting on the couch looking a little stiff. “So…” he started, grabbing the older male’s attention.
Jaejoong anxiously whipped his head towards Yunho and sighed in relief when he saw that the other was dressed. “So…” he said, repeating what Yunho had said. He knew it was going to be awkward. At least they weren’t in a fight. Yet, he thought bitterly.
“How… Are you… What-” He was cut off from his incoherent sentences.
“I just came because Changmin-ah said you really miss me and since… I miss you too… I decided to come and see if… you were doing okay…” Jaejoong trailed off, not knowing what else to say.
“Oh,” was all Yunho could say as he sat adjacent from Jaejoong. So that’s why Changmin wanted me to get up this morning; he told Jaejoong to come over, he thought. They kept quiet for a bit until Yunho spoke again. “I’m as okay as I can be… but I want to know about you. How have you been? Are you eating well?”
“Same as you; as okay as I can be,” Jaejoong answered tentatively. “I don’t eat as much as I used to, but…” he trailed off again.
Another pregnant silence fell upon them and Yunho took a minute longer to gather his thoughts and ask one more question. “What have you been up to?”
Thinking about you, Jaejoong thought and mentally shook himself. “Nothing much. As you might’ve guessed by now, I live by myself.”
“Yeah, Changmin-ah and I went to Yoochun and Junsu’s place last night. Changmin-ah talked to you then, didn’t he?”
“Yeah. He was really happy” -Jaejoong gulped- “to hear from me.” He decided that the younger male didn’t need to know that he’d been there since the night before and had still been there when Yunho and Changmin came. It wasn’t important.
“He looked like it when we left. Or was that because he got you to agree to come visit me today?” Yunho raised a quizzical eyebrow.
“Actually, I hadn’t agreed then. I had only said I’d think about it. I almost didn’t come. I almost turned around when I was waiting for the bus that would take me here. I almost didn’t get off that bus.” Jaejoong’s voice began to crack as he continued. “I almost died inside… as I was standing outside your door… wondering if this was a good idea… if we could… be the same…” A tear slid down his cheek and he hastily wiped it away. He swallowed, trying to get rid of the agonizing pain he was remembering at the moment.
“Jaejoong-ah,” Yunho whispered as he stood up from his chair and went to sit next to the older male. He put an uncertain hand on one of Jaejoong’s and squeezed it lightly. “We can. I’ve just been waiting for you to see me again. When you said I wouldn’t be hearing from you anymore, I didn’t bother trying to see you or talk to you because I didn’t want to be a nuisance. I didn’t think you’d let me anywhere near you.” He spoke softly; enough to break Jaejoong’s concentration on not crying and the blonde burst into tears.
“It’s not just that, Yunho!” he sobbed. “During all this time, yes, I didn’t want to see you again because I knew I would break down like I’m doing now. But it was mainly because you completely ignored my blatant confession and practically threw it in my face! I know it hadn’t been the right time to confess something like that and get a response, and you probably don’t feel the same, but it would’ve been nice if you had given some sort of reaction to show that you acknowledged it. And-”
Yunho cut him off by tightening his grip on the elder’s hand, causing Jaejoong to look at him in alarm, and he pushed himself forward to connect their lips together. Jaejoong’s eyes were wide open and the tears stopped flowing. He couldn’t find the strength to protest or kiss back. So he sat there and closed his eyes, relaxing and leaning into the kiss.
When they broke apart, both of them were quiet. Jaejoong was looking down; too scared to look the other in the eyes and also a little confused at the moment. Yunho, on the other hand, was gazing intently at the blonde. He hoped he’d gotten his feelings across. If not, then he’d have to do it the old-fashioned way. But Jaejoong never looked up. He was still unsure about what the kiss was for. Desperate, Yunho reached up and cupped the blonde’s chin to make eye contact.
“Please don’t think that just because I never answered you, means I don’t feel the same. Like you said, it wasn’t the right time for that kind of thing. And after that last thing you said to me that day, I knew there was no way I could answer you.” Yunho moved his hand to Jaejoong’s cheek and lightly rubbed his thumb over it. “I love you, Jaejoong-ah. I always have. And I’m so sorry I had to hurt you like this. I just thank you for coming to see me today so that I could finally tell you.”
Jaejoong didn’t realize that he’d started crying again until he felt Yunho wipe his tears away. Only then did he lurch forward and grab onto the front of the younger male’s shirt and bury his face in the other’s chest. Yunho hugged him tight, rocking them slightly to lull the elder’s tears.
“It’s only been a week since I confessed to you,” Jaejoong hiccupped, “but I have been waiting for years…” he started calming down and finished in a whisper “…just to hear you tell me those words.”
The almond-eyed man just tightened his hold on the slightly shaking body and softly hushed him. For a while, they sat silently in each other’s embrace and it was almost half an hour before they finally pulled away. Yunho raised his hands and cupped Jaejoong’s cheeks, gazing into his eyes- almost searchingly- to make sure the elder was alright now and they both leaned in to kiss once more.
“God, Yunho, I’ve really missed you,” Jaejoong breathed when they broke apart again.
“I know; I’ve missed you too. Please forgive me.” The taller male looked at him with pleading eyes.
Jaejoong sighed, a bit disappointed in himself. “There’s nothing to forgive. I’m the one who should be sorry. I shouldn’t have been so selfish. It’s your choice whether or not you want to continue going to that school and I have no right to tell you otherwise.”
“No… don’t say that,” Yunho chided gently as he pushed some hair behind Jaejoong’s ear. “I love that you were selfish because that just shows how much you love me, right? And you didn’t want us to be split up. I understand.” He bit his lip and looked down contemplatively before meeting Jaejoong’s eyes again and telling him the truth. “I’m sorry because everything was my fault.”
“What do you mean?” Jaejoong looked at him confusedly.
Yunho took a deep breath to prepare himself and let it out slowly. “The expulsion was my fault. I was supposed to be in charge of everything, but I ended up getting you guys caught instead. If I had known that a teacher would be there that night, I never would’ve let you guys go in. I should’ve been better prepared. We could’ve gotten away with it. If only we’d been more careful…” His voice began to crack and tears formed at his eyes. “And then… when I think about what happened to you… and what happened to Junsu and Yoochun soon after… I know it’s all my fault.
“That’s why I pleaded to stay at the school. I wanted to repent for everything. And that’s why Changmin-ah stayed with me. He knew about this; he knew I was taking the blame for it all and wanted to keep me company. It’s my fault that this happened to you guys and I’m just really sorry!” He was crying hard by this point and clutching Jaejoong’s hand as tight as he could, hoping the blonde would forgive him and hoping the tears would stop.
“Yunho…” Jaejoong murmured in shock. He was staring wide-eyed at the brown-haired male and the next thing he knew, he was hugging him and trying to calm him down. “It’s okay, Yunho. It’s okay. Shh~ I forgive you. And it’s not your fault. None of us knew the teacher was there that night. There was no way any of us could’ve been more prepared for that. What happened has happened and we can’t undo it.”
“Yeah, but… you got expelled! I’m the reason for that. You should be angry at me!”
The blonde abruptly let go of him and his hands flew to cup Yunho’s face, making the younger look at him. “How could I ever be mad at you? Frustrated, yes. Exasperated, sure. But never mad. Yunho, I love you and I understand, so I forgive you. And to be honest, it’s really not anyone’s fault. We were just there at the wrong time. As I already said, none of us could’ve known. So stop blaming yourself and making yourself miserable.” He lightly pecked Yunho’s lips and gazed at him intently.
Yunho nodded and replied in a small voice. “Okay.” He looked into Jaejoong’s eyes and found nothing but love. “I love you so much.”
Jaejoong smiled and kissed him again. Yunho kissed back- tears long gone- as Jaejoong’s arms slipped around his neck. They stayed that way until the need for air became necessary and they spent the rest of the day either talking or just enjoying being in the other’s presence again.

Changmin came home to an empty and very quiet dorm. It was seven at night and he finished classes a couple hours ago, but had hung out with a few friends and just now returned to the dorm. He walked around and called out a few questionings of ‘hello’ as he threw his backpack on the couch and headed for the kitchen.
“I’m so hungry~” he whined to himself. In ten minutes tops, he had a big- rather messy- sandwich in hand and was eating it happily. He went towards Yunho’s room to see if the older male was sleeping.
Knocking twice, he opened the door and found that, yeah, Yunho was asleep… and so was Jaejoong. That’s right. Jaejoong had come over and they obviously made up, considering they were snuggled up to each other under the covers with peaceful- blissful- expressions on their faces. He had almost choked when he saw that Jaejoong was not only in their dorm, but he and Yunho were sleeping together. After Changmin recovered from the slight shock, he smiled at them and quietly closed the door; going to his own room to finish the last three bites of his sandwich.

A month has passed since the day Jaejoong visited Yunho. The morning after had found them waking up in bed together and giggling at the fact that they were now finally together. The morning had also found a smirking Changmin standing in the doorway of Yunho’s room and practically scaring the couple when he started bombarding them with hundreds of questions.
So what does this mean? Are you guys friends again? Why are you guys in the same bed? Yunho-hyung, did you confess? Are you guys together now? I’m hungry. Jaejoong-hyung, what made you finally decide to come? Was it me? I’m hungry. Are you guys gonna tell Junsu-hyung and Yoochun-hyung? When are you gonna tell them? Are we all gonna be one big happy family now? I’m hungry. Since it seems like you guys have made up, can we go to the amusement park today? I want some cotton candy. Did I mention that I’m hungry???
Yunho had about thrown Changmin out of the dorm that morning if it hadn’t been for Jaejoong laughing at his ever-so-missed dongsaeng. The rest of that day had been spent at the amusement park; all three acting like a family. Jaejoong and Yunho had only talked on the phone since then and went to each other’s place to hang out when they had time, seeing as how Yunho was busy with school and Jaejoong had decided to get a job. Changmin found ways of slipping between the two every so often and Junsu and Yoochun- who had found out about Jaejoong and Yunho the day after the amusement park- also got in between them. They were all pretty much back to being the group they had been before the expulsion.Everything- and everyone- was back to normal and things could only get better.
