A03.
Pansy came out of the bathroom stall, washing her hands as she checked over her appearance in the mirror. Daphne joined her a moment later, two girls taking a moment to catch their breath between all the dancing and partying.
“Have you seen anyone you want to go home with tonight?” Daphne asked.
Fixing her lipstick, Pansy shrugged. “I saw a cute brunette earlier, but she was with some guys.”
Daphne frowned. “Hey, whose phone is this?” She picked up a cell that she noticed on the bathroom counter. Swiping to unlock it, Daphne grinned. “Well, guess what we have here?”
“Some rando’s phone?” Pansy asked, laughing dryly.
“Not just any rando, but a curly brunette rando,” Daphne teased.
Pansy’s eyes widened. She snagged the phone from Daphne’s hand and looked at the home screen picture. Sure enough, it was that pretty girl and the two guys she was with.
“You should go give it to her,” Daphne encouraged. “Perfect icebreaker.”
Biting her lower lip, Pansy nodded. “Let me just do something first.” Opening the address book, she plugged her own number into the phone. “She really should have a passcode or something on this…” She muttered.
“Bold of you,” Daphne commented once she realised what Pansy was doing.
“You know I live life on the edge,” Pansy sassed, grinning. “Okay, let’s go find her.”
Heading from the bathroom, Pansy and Daphne looked around the club to find the girl.
“There she is!” Daphne said, pointing to a corner. “Hey, ask her if the redhead is single once you go over there.” Daphne winked and slapped Pansy’s on the arse before she turned and headed to the bar. “Next round is on me!”
Slipping through the crowd, Pansy made her way to the girl. “Hey, you left this in the bathroom,” she said, holding out the phone.
The brunette’s eyes widened. “Oh my gosh, thank you!” She took the phone from Pansy. “I’m Hermione, by the way.”
“Pansy,” she replied, grinning. “I added my number, just in case you ever wanted to go out some time.”
Hermione’s cheeks turned bright pink. “Oh, er, okay! Ummmm… I’m free Tuesday night.”
“Great,” Pansy said. She turned to the redhead. “My friend thinks you’re cute. She’s at the bar in the green dress.”
“Shite, really?” He didn’t waste another moment before he made his way there.
“Sorry, he’s a little eager to get over his ex,” Hermione explained, shaking her head.
“Doesn’t bother me,” Pansy replied.
“Um, do you want to dance? Sorry, I usually babysit my friends when we go out… I’m not used to actually doing this.” She gestured between the two of them awkwardly.
Pansy grinned and took Hermione’s hand. “Come on, then. Let’s broaden your horizons.”
As Pansy guided Hermione to the dancefloor, she caught Daphne’s excited expression from across the room. The two of them were definitely in for a good night.
