Day 5 of Sobriety

And things are going well! I've found it surprisingly easy so far to keep off the booze, especially considering I have been giving up my work knock-offs and work the last few evenings has been particularly fucked! In two consecutive nights I have had the privilege of cleaning up vomit - and from the same spot, right in front of the bar. Charming. Though perhaps seeing the adverse results of drinking this has helped me keep off it...

Last night I went and saw Bob Evans at The Toff with lovely Johanna. Having last seen Mr Evans with Josh Pyke about two years [before I knew who he was and realised he was ex-Jebediah] I knew I was in for a good show, and I was not mistaken! Bob played plenty of his new and yet to be released material which was all awesome, and of course all of my faves from Suburban Songbook came out. He got a guy from the crowd to get up and sing a song with him, and then pulled out two surprise cameo appearances - Katie Steele of Little Birdy, and Tim Rogers of You Am I! Was a wonderful evening and I'm super excited that Mr Evans announced his move to Melbourne - hopefully this means we'll see him more often.

Went to DFO today on a mission to get a swimsuit and some boardies and was pleased to find both. The plan is to head up to Coburg Leisure Centre and use the pool up there [with Miss England, Colette]. I haven't been submersed in water in I don't know how long! I think swimming will be good for me, I know I miss it. It's exercise and the silence underwater helps me clear my mind and think. Double win! Was also thrilled to find Cons on sale and picked up a pair of pink ones to replace my existing dead brown ones.

And now I'm off to work for a no-doubt scintillating Graveyard shift!
