Well, I just got back from the advanced screening of the movie. The theater was packed and I mean PACKED, but we managed to get pretty good seats. Now, onto the review. If you haven't seen the movie yet, read at your discretion.

The third movie was really good. I really enjoyed it, even if it did seem pretty long but it was another one of those ( Read more... )

Yup, I just would have jumped into Jack's lap too. Now, the funny thing is I really really thought after Will died that she WOULD choose Jack. But NO ( ... )

WAHH!!! Thank you!!!! *kisses the ground you walk on* And this is precisely why I love and adore you. What a sweet ending. Although, that kills all hopes for a fourth movie now. wahhh! noooo. i want moreeeeee.

And yeah. I'm a Jack/Eliza shipper more than I am Will/Eliza, as you might have guessed. Somehow, I just think Eliza's wits would be better suited towards Jack's sharp mind. Will is too honest for her, despite his attempts at acting evil, hehe. Or maybe I've been thinking too much about how ch 13 of TM will turn out and having too many of these battle of wits play out in my little head. *sigh*

Now, onto the HP movie! lol. can't wait until that comes out. I hope you'll get to see it in Europe!

hehe...why did I get the impression you were leavingin immediately...and here I was worrying I wouldn't see you for two months...

I'm so excited about the HP movie! Can't wait until it finally gets out. This one should be really. Especially that duel between Voldie and Dumbly.

Yeah, I know what you mean. To be honest, I've yet to be impressed by any of the actors so far. I think that Ralph did a fine job with Voldemort, but Voldie...well, it's not the hardest character to portray since in the movies, he's so one dimensional. I think the hardest has been on Danial Radcliffe, and he does a good job. So does Rupert Grint, but there are moments when the inexperience shows through...Emma also does a good job, but same problem. I don't know..maybe I'm expecting too much. They're all still really young. But compared to say...Keira Knightly, who was 17 when she filmed Pirates...you see the difference. At least I do. Then again, I have high expectations for anything HP.

I completely agree with your point on Voldemort. Actually, besides Harry, Ron and occasionally Hermione, most HP characters remain in their rigid stereotyped roles. Draco has changed a bit for the better in book 6, and we're seeing a bit more from Snape and Narcissa, but most of the characters have always seemed relatively 2 dimensional. Obviously, working with such a large cast, it's not economical for JKR to flesh everything single character out. BUT VOLDEMORT. You could at least flesh out the villain!!! I personally think that would have made for a better series, but then she'd be making Harry a villain since Harry constantly wants to kill Voldie ( ... )

Yes! I would love an appearance by Tom as well! And yes...it would definitely be MUCH more interesting with Harry acting as half a villain. I'm always slightly disturbed by JKR and how she portrays Harry as a protagonist who is willing to "take down as many of them as he can" if he ever gets the chance. Yes, she's trying to draw the line between good and evil, but with complex issues like racism...can you really? I will never support racism but I don't think it's something that warrants death. At some point, Harry has to realize that killing is a sin, not matter who it is you kill, even someone like Hitler or Voldemort. There is no justification for it. I'm always slightly disturbed that Dumbledore supports Harry when he says such things. Not exactly a good message to kids. "It's ok to kill as long as its for the right cause." That in itself is disturbing.
