Illendis' class
It's difficult to sneak up on a Klamon. Those that manipulate temperature can sesne shifts in heat. hybrids can generally sense a few dozen yards off, but a full klamon can pick things up a kilometer or more away if they are concentrating. Brehtsoln and others that sense electrical impuiloses are equally sensitive, but they are cued into the elctrical pulses that your body gives off.
"Miss Hillenbohn, I know it has been a trying few days for you, but would you mind giving some of your unique insights on the nature of the constructs before before we continue?"
If it were anyone else she probably would have refused, citing the trials of the day and being emotionally spent, but Illendis was always curious and enthusiastic and had been quite sympathetic and helpful all term. It would feel a bit ungrateful to refuse.
"Well," she began and sat up a little straighter. "The first think that I always notice about them is their ability to block and absorb changes in temperature. Normally I can sense how hot or cold things are some distance from me, but the constructs can block that."
"So," Tundal spoke up, "If I built a wall construct you wouldn't be able to feel how hot it is on the other side?"
"Yes, I can't feel anything through them. They don't hold their own temperature and block shifts."
"So you can't heat stuff through them then?"
Illendis, gratefully, saw where the line of logic could be going and stepped in before Sray could reply. "Yes, the construct would absorb the energy of the heat. Had any of you paid attention during your time in the forge or the kitches you would have noticed construct woven in the walls to insulate the furnace and ovens to prevent heat escaping as well as in the ice rooms to keep heat out." Illendis continued on, not giving anyone a chance to add further comment as he waxed a little poetic about the nature and properties of the constructs and their practical applications from simple insulation to their use in the infirmary for things like sutures and bracing broken bones. "Tricky work that. You will remember how hard it is to secure your walls because the particles are already occupied being a floor, wall, or ceiling, living tissue is even more set in it's 'job' so to speak so it takes a lot more effort and energy to do it as well as no small bit of talent."
