I had my laptop when JoJo was driving me home from school. I thought of Lonestar Texas ranger and started to jot ideas down. This poem is more like lyrics on a napkin, but nevertheless satisfying. I deticate this poem to Rene because she's been a good friend to me for the last couple of weeks.
Down the road from here,
Sun is almost gone.
Light is fading away.
Air is cooling down.
Down the road from here,
There is a fork.
Two directions; right and left
Is all we have to choose from.
The left is really dark.
Feels cold and damp.
The right is really bright.
Very hot and dry.
A man comes from behind
And asks us to choose
So he can make his journey.
He seems to be in a hurry.
But it doesn’t matter.
There’s always the two of us.
We’ll walk down the middle,
Off that path.
We’ll never get lost.
As long as we have each other,
We’ll create our own pathway together,
Down the road from here.
