Rush watched Eli stammer through his proposal. He remembered when he had been the student explaining his ideas to an unreceptive audience, now the roles had been reversed. As Eli stumbled over his words for the fourth time, Rush took pity on him and stood. “I’ve looked over his work. His ideas are sound. I think we should try it.” Everyone turned to stare at Rush. Eli was as shocked as the rest, but recovered quickly and mouthed “Thank you.” The moderator looked at his agenda. “Very well, we will submit the proposal to the IOA for funding consideration. Next?”
