Is that possible? *g* Anyway, I'm watching way more tv now than I think I ever have. I have more time at home now than I had years past, so I'm able to watch all the shows that catch my eye. And holy crap, it's a lot, something like 14 plus the random cooking or home remodel thing. Thank the little gods for the invention of the dvr.
I managed to keep up with all the tv for the first couple of weeks after the season started, then I had a week were I had no desire to turn on the tv and spent all my time reading and now I'm like seriously behind. I've watched a ton of shows since yesterday when I got off work and there's still 20 odd episodes on the dvr!
I saw the first episode of Constantine, I'm not sure if I liked it. I have a good half of the trades (I've yet to read them cos I practice tsunkoku like whoa) so I only have the bare bones knowledge of the character and I thought he was darker. Plus, does everything have to take place in America? I get the whole what it costs to shoot location and stuff, but it's still a bit of a bummer. But, I'm recording it and plan to watch more before I make up my mind.
I'm all caught up on Gotham. Damn do I love Ben McKenzie and he's not disappointing as Gordon. Tho Bullock is pretty damn good too. I'm not sure how I feel about the Bruce & Alfred story line, but I love Salina to bits.
I'm like 3 eps behind on Arrow and Flash. I love the CW's take on Ollie (he's my man don't ya know) and so far the season hasn't disappointed. Flash isn't a book I'm familiar with outside of Bart Allen, and don't even let me get started on that f'ing chump kill. I'm still bitter. Well, I guess I am passing familiar with character names so it's cool to pick out the references. Anyway, the show is pretty good, I think.
I'm behind on S.H.I.E.L.D. too. I wonder if the events of the tv show will affect the cinematic universe. It's gone the other way; Thor Dark World, Winter Soldier. It's like the movies are the big cross-over event books and the tv shows are the monthly titles. Huh, guess I answered my own question. Usually the event things totally fuck up the monthly books and piss me off. :)
Grimm started back up and I haven't managed to watch an episode yet. There was a comic series over the summer and a Wu stand alone book that was really good. It feels like the books tie into the show pretty well. Lol, this post didn't start out to be about comics, but it seems for me the two are linked.
Sleepy Hollow is another one that's got a comic mini series coming out right now. I'm behind on the show, of course, but the first issue of the mine is decent. As for the show, I really like the whole apocalypse story they're going with. The writers have done a good job, imho, of world building.
Speaking of apocalypse, I love Supernatural this season. I haven't seen the last two episodes, but the stuff with Crowley and Dean has been priceless. I know Dean gets 'saved' (not sure of the particulars so don't spoil me any more than that) and I think I'm kinda sad about it. I hope they don't shy away from the revelations Dean has made to the viewers and to himself. I always hear the writers/creators/actors say the show is best when it's about the brothers. Well, prove it and don't shy away from the implications of demon!Dean.
On a comic note Supernatural wise, I really need to get the trade for Beginning's End. I have Rising Son and Caledonia and I think Origins but I have to double check. I am a completest after all and I neeeeed them all :D
Looking at the list so far I defiantly have a type of show don't I? I do watch more reality based tv. There's Stalker - does Dylan McDermott play anything but slightly creepy, not really very nice guys? And Scorpion - if you take away the intro with the ode to the dude's ego, it's a pretty decent team based adventure/caper show.
And of course all three NCIS programs. I haven't watched the original in years. I'm not sure why looking back, probably lack of time, so I think I wanna try to find the time to watch the seasons I missed. I'd forgotten how much I like DiNozzo, he's such a perfect woobie. New Orleans has been pretty good so far too. Gods, I could listen to Lucas Black read the blessed phone book. There's just something about his accent. And of course G Callen ranks up there woobie-wise too.
On a side note, I would love to find tragic back story fic about DiNozzo, Callen, Elliot from Leverage, Agent Ward from S.H.I.E.L.D. (tho they did it pretty well in the show actually), Steve McGarrett from H5-O, any of those mysterious past, hurt little boys in adult bodies that I love. So, if anyone sees this and knows of anything, for the love of the little gods, drop me a link? A body's gotta feed an addiction, don't ya know :D
Speaking of Hawaii 5-O I just caught up with the last three episodes yesterday and all I can say is oh Danny. The scene where he pulls the trigger on the bastard that killed his brother. Holy crap, that was freaking amazing. The look on his face, damn, Scott Cann nailed it. Then there's Steve, why must the PtB give him a love interest again? C'mon, he's fine on his own. Shit the character is just now seeming to be okay alone. Plus, he's got Danny, all the emotional needs met without the hassle of sex and relationship crap. (ah, my perfect relationship *g*)
Last, but not least American Horror Story: Freak Show. The Boy and I are watching it together, it's the only show we are anymore. So, last season, Coven, actually ended fairly well for every one, this season, it seems like they're showing us the human factor inside of all the characters. Asylum was classic horror with only a handful surviving and not every one of them even being a 'good guy'. Idk what I'm trying to say. It's like, yes there's all this horror stuff going on, but the supposed 'bad guys' are just 'good guys' who've had tough breaks. Are they going for the whole 'every one has the potential to do harm'? It's strange and I'm not sure what to think of it. Perhaps I should not over think the meta and just go with the entertainment value of the program.
Then there's Person of Interest. I miss it :( yes, I know, it's still on the air. The problem is Root. I can't even love to hate her, I just can not stand the character so much I can't bear to watch the show. Maybe I should look up the cast list for each episode and then only watch the ones with out her.
Oh! I almost forgot! Blacklist! James Spader is so good evil. Or morally ambiguous or what the hell ever he is. And Lizzy, going more darkside with every episode. I am so looking forward to finding out what her connection to Red is. I'm constantly changing my mind, tho with the latest episode I've crossed daughter off the list.
And that, I think, is all the tv I am watching. Well, Chopped and Donut Challenge and Rescue my Renovation and Yard Crashers . . . :D
