First off, I need more icons. I suppose I could make them myself, but I'm feeling a lack of creativity. Eh, I guess I'm going to have to invest some time in searching instead of bitching aren't I? lol
Last week The Boy and I went to the symphony last week for a production of
Distant Worlds The Music of Final Fantasy. It was fantastic. Besides the amazing music there were cosplayers. We saw a Chocobo, Sephiroth, Yuna, Tidus, Vincent Valentine and a couple others I don't remember the names of.
It apparently was Nobou Uematsu's birthday as well and he got up on stage and the whole hall sang happy birthday. Which gave the show that once in a life time quality. The most awesome part for me was when they played a medley of the battle themes and ended it with the vicory music. The entire audience was yelling with emotion at the end. It was way intense.
Let's see, what else. I'm going to see Zac Brown Band with
nelle816 and one of her friends in June in Wisconsin. That ought to be a great time. I really like Zac Brown and didn't see them when they were in Omaha last because I refuse to give money to the festival they were playing. (local music scene politics don't ya know) Besides,
nelle816 and T are a hoot and a half to hang out with so even if the music sucks (it won't) it'll be a good time.
In other music news, did you know Depeche Mode has a new album dropping tuesday? Me either! I honestly didn't think they were still making music. It'll be their 13 studio album. That's a long ass career. The Boy is a huge fan (owns every album, sometimes multiple copies still shrink wrapped, the weirdo) so I pre-ordered the album for us. Turns out it comes with a code for pre-sale tickets to their North American shows so we're gonna try to get to the Chicago show in august. I got my fingers crossed the tickets aren't too awful expensive. I would love to see them and The Boy would be over the moon if we manage it.
Oh! In geek news I got the prop quality set of Agent Coulson's Captain America Trading Cards!! Both blood stained ones and the clean ones. Here, look:
Ain't that just the coolest thing ever? I haven't opened the cards yet, they're on acid free, archival quality paper, but I'm torn between keeping it all mint and rubbing my grubby little hands all over it. I wanna get it autographed too. By both Clark Gregg and Chris Evans. I wonder, would Chris Evans sign as Captain America as well or should I have that done by Ed Brubaker (my favorite Captian America comic writer) *wanders off in a fannish fantasy*
Speaking of autographs,
Planet Comicon is coming up. I really, really want to go. I can't afford autographs of the big name attendees, but I've got a camera with a decent zoom. I mean seriously, Wil Wheaton and George Takei and Adam Baldwin and Nicholas Brendon and Neal Adams. Who wouldn't want to go?
Ack! Just looked at the clock! Have a lovely day ya'll
