SPOILERS FOR LAST NIGHTS ARROW
Now that is the way to do it! Character development and motivation. I'll hand-wave away any police procedural wtf-ry and what the hell did that character do in the face of the excellence that was the show, not tell, of why Ollie kills like a psychopath.
I love that he's not normal after his five years on the island and that the writers acknowledged that. So often that sort of thing is hand-waved away with no consequences attached to it. Showing that it has done damage and that Ollie is covering up that damage is brilliant. And when he talks to Diggle in the Big Belly Burger his voice is all 'I'm fucking insane and you can tell' and then the new bodyguard comes over and it's playboy!Ollie voice and it was just fantastic!
I think I'm a little in love. No, I know I'm in love. I was gonna watch no matter what, cos Ollie is my man, but this, this is freaking amazing. Way better than I hoped for. Thank the little gods their numbers are so good. It pretty well guarantees another season at the least.
