A moment of meditation...

So, I've been reading the "Tao Te Ching", and I found a passage that's been sticking with me. It's sometimes strange to think that comfort can come from literature written such a long time ago. Oh well, I guess I'll write it down so that you can see it. I'm not particularly busy with anything but housework, what with the kids busy cleaning their room and Eric being at work.

Take a deep breath, find your center, now read:

That which is at rest is easily kept hold of; before a thing has made its presence known, it is easy to take measure against it. that which is brittle is easily broken; that which is very small is easily dispersed.
Action should be taken before a thing has made its apperance; order should be secured before disorder has begun. The tree which fills the arms grew from the tiniest sprout; the tower of nine stories rose from a small heap of earth; the journey of a thousand miles commenced with a single step.
He who acts with purpose does harm; he who purposefully takes hold of a thing loses his hold. The sage does not act and therefore does no harm; he does not lay hold and therefore does not lose his hold.
In the conduct of their affairs, people ruin their chances when they are on the eve of success. If they were careful at the end, as they are at the beginning, they would not ruin them.

Therefore the sage desires what other men do not, and does not prize things difficult to get; he learns what others do not learn, and turns back to what the multitude of men have passed by. Thus he helps the natural development of all things, and does not dare to act.

-Lao Tzu "Tao Te Ching"

In other news...I desperately want to go back to Kung Fu...you know, so I can be a Kung Fu master. Have I mentioned lately that I want to learn the iron fans more than anything else on the planet? Probably not. However, what with all the stress, I bet it would be easier to just go on a run and not spend the cash that would entail. The weather has been somewhat pleasant. I need to fix my bike, which would also include going to get it from my mom's. I'm giving it some serious thought too. I miss going outside and just doing stuff. *sigh* I'm going to try desperately to do so in the next week since Kyle is off of school. I've put in for a week off in April. I can't wait! :)
