I ordered tickets to the Weird Al state fair show back in June. JUNE! I never got the tickets.
I just called ticketmaster. I waited on hold for over 20 minutes before talking to anyone. That might be understandable if I was waiting in line with a whole nation of people, but I wasn't. The number I called was specifically designated as the Twin Cities customer service number and was a 651 number. Let's review, that's a 20 minute wait for a center servicing just the Twin Cities area.
Below is a paraphrase of my conversation
TM: How may I help you?
ME: I am calling to check on my order. I have not yet received my tickets.
TM: Well, ma'am, when is your event?
ME: August 27th or 28th.
TM: Well, there's nothing we can do until 48 hours before the event. Call back then. Good-bye.
ME: Wait! Wait! I don't understand. What happens when I call back 48 hours before the event?
TM: Then we have some lost ticket vouchers prepared and waiting for you at the event.
ME: Can't I get those now?
TM: Ma'am, can I have the last four digits of the credit card you used to place the order?
ME: Blah, blah, blah, blah
TM: Ma'am, according to our records these were mailed out to you on June 2nd.
ME: Well, I never got them.
TM: They must have gotten lost in the mail.
ME: So, we know there is a problem now. Can't we address it now?
TM: I'm sorry but there is nothing we can do until 48 hours before the event.
ME: Is there a more direct number I call for one of these vouchers?
TM: No, ma'am, it is the same customer service number. Just call back 48 hours before the event. Thank you for calling tick . . .
ME: Click.
I repeat. Ticketmaster is evil!
