Busy Week
Finding a job has been a bitch. I have faced the facts, and until I have my masters, I just can't do what I truly want. So, I decided to go to bartending school. I had classes all this week, and I will take my final tests next week. It turned out to be pretty fun, though memorizing all the drinks has bee quite a challenge. I figure it is a good way to make some money this summer, and while I am in school, as I could do it one night a week or so. The school has job placement, so hopefully once I am done with the tests, I will have a job shortly thereafter.
Other big news... I got into the grad school I wanted! University of Missouri-St. Louis for History/Museum Studies. Right now, it looks like I will be doing an assistantship at the St. Louis Science Center working with inner city teenagers to continue in the process of developing successful community education programs. I am bummed that it wont be at a history museum, but I think it will be a great experience none the less, and hey! I will get a stipend and my tuition paid for! Not too shabby!!! Its all unofficial right now, so until the paperwork comes in, I am trying not to get too excited. In the last semester we have to develop our own exhibit, which should be awesome! Yay, no thesis!!!
The weather has been great... in the 80's today. I hear the summers are brutal though!
We have an owl living right outside our bedroom window. We haven't seen him, but we sure do hear him every day/night. There are also tons of bluejays and cardinals in our little yard, I love it!!!
Well, I should get to bed...lots of stuff to do tomorrow...
