i've started an audio journal. the idea is that i carry around a tiny cassette recorder and capture the sounds of the things i do during the day. everything makes a noise, and the hope is that noise would be instantly recognizable as corresponding to the action or thing from which it came. i start the day with announcing the date but after that ( Read more... )

i used to do something like that. but instead of noises of the day it was drunken teenagers and the clever things they come up with.
it isnt really the same idea, but i did carry around a dictaphone.

My dad gave me a microcassette recorder a year or so ago, and at some garage sale my mom found more supposedly blank microcassettes. But I put one in, and listened, and it was about half an hour of this schoolteacher's journal.
(I have no ending, except that other people's journals tend to be exciting regardless of what their lives are).
