much has happened since I last posted...waaaaaay back in September. Mainly, that I have a new job. I now work at Biogen Idec, i've been there since November 1 and I really enjoy it a lot. Nice people, interesting work and great pay :)
Mark and i are still on our search for an apartment and just recently answered a posting we saw today. Hopefully, we'll hear something back and can set up a time to see it. From the pictures we saw, the place looks really nice and they say the kitchen is new...always a plus!
I've been trying to eat better and exercise more since the beginning of the year; one of my constant New Year's Resolutions... And I've fluctuated a bit, but as i last checked, I have lost around 10 pounds since the first week in January, so that's exciting. i took a yoga class with Chrissy, signed up for the new member deal and haven't gone back since. I'm so disappointed because i really enjoyed it, but we've had such shitty weather since then (at least a snowstorm a week) and it's just too much hassle to get to the class late and have to take the train home sweaty and gross at 9pm or later...BUT I did buy WiiFit and play it every weekend when I'm here at Mark's. I left it here because I know this is the only place I'd actually get a chance to use it. (it will definitely be coming with us when we finally move).
i am still in the process of reading books on that "1001 books..." list , but I'm not as gung-ho about reading every single one because some of them are terrible...Barely any punctuation, run-on sentences and they don't make sense! So that's no big loss for me.
I'm also still trying to scrapbook when I get a chance, but definitely haven't done it in a while. I'm working on the one from Senior Year AND the one from France. I still haven't even begun the one for Italy. i think once I get my own place I'll have more room and time to do more things I want to do.
And lastly, I've picked up the pace on my knitting. I do more than scarves now! I'm currently working on two blankets. Both are in the garter stitch, but one has color changing lines (for my niece) and the other is two different yarns knitted together at the same time (for a cousin's baby). I also recently tried my hand at making mini swatches of different kinds of stitches and must say that they're not half bad. I think during this week I will make better, bigger swatches. Maybe i'll post pictures here and this can kind of be like a knitting blog to keep track of my stuff :) (I'm also working on a scarf for Mark's aunt). I love making things for people and really want to learn how to do more things with knitting. I ordered more yarn and a couple of books and they should be delivered today (that's what the package tracking says, anyway)
Ok, I think this is enough for now. I really am going to try and work on updating this. Maybe making it a "knitting blog" type thing will prompt me to update more.
Probably not, but it's a nice thought!
