Freedom and Responsibility
To quote St. Augustine of Hippo,
"God who created you without you, will not save you without you."
This sentence immediately made me conclude, "For God to help you, you need to want the help first.. and to work for it." Even with God's immense power and knowledge, we are given the freedom to choose how we want to live our lives, and to make the major decision of changing for the better. This entails working for this decision, because in the end we also benefit from the work. To get from here to there without the burden of work which will help you gain knowledge and develop good character will leave you undeserving of the just reward-- and it will lessen the sweetness, the joy of obtaining that reward.
