This Holy Week has been such a good break for me (so far). And-- WOW-- tomorrow's already Easter Sunday! Though, I have my reservations about the eggs and bunnies dominating the scene.
Despite the lack of a schedule, since we all decided to stay home from Thursday to Sunday, I feel that it's been very busy. I'm very thankful because the quiet and the stillness of the village has been perfect for me to just think and write in peace.
Lately, I've been thinking a lot about matters of Faith. I realize that when it comes to religion, it can be such a difficult topic to bring up with others. It's like walking on eggshells anytime the topic is opened. At the same time, a lot of these topics revolve around things which should be talked about, which need to be addressed... but too often lead to a discussion that hurts feelings and stirs emotion to the point that discussion is pointless.
I realize that Faith, no matter what religion you were born into or follow, is very intimate. It's something which ultimately goes back to the very essential conversation between you (your thoughts and actions) and God (who sees it all). Being a Catholic, I also realize that there is a lot about my Faith which I take for granted simply because it seems like years of taking classes on Catholic doctrine and belief was enough. How wrong I was.
Well anyway, just in case you too need some sound, straight-to-the-point explanations on matters of Faith, or just want to understand the teachings by Catholicism better, I would suggest this site:
Catholics Come Home That site also has a number of affiliate sites which are very helpful.
It's never too late to start re-learning, re-discovering the beauty of life, the wonderful reality of that single Truth.
Hope you all have/had a very meaningful Holy Week! :)
