Writer's Block: B.Y.O.B. Holidays
my holiday schedule is rather packed. starting at the personal level, i celebrate the winter solstice, Yule, because i'm pagan and for me this is like new year's and christmas wrapped in one! I hold a vigil through the night to welcome the sunrise of the new year with all my close friends. we exchange gifts, tell stories, play games all through the night. next my partner is Jewish so we start Hanukkah on the same day, continuing for the eight days with fun little things. he's not orthodox, so we can get away with doing a small celebration the way he likes it. then the rest of our families are christian, so we go to between 2-4 Christmas gatherings. Lots of gifts, lots of family, so little time!
