Something struck me on the way home from the Soriana. Mexico is the only place I've ever been where I'm considered thin, blonde, beautiful, of normal height, and coolly accented.

Why am I going home in two weeks, again?

Been here a month and a half, and this is the first time so far that I've actually eaten something so incredibly hot that my mouth is burning and I'm crying tears of fire.

There is a possibility, if I'm reading the site correctly, that there may in fact be a showing of Alice that is not dubbed in Spanish.

In which case, we can go see it tonight, and wheeeeee!

If not, it had still better be in theatres when I get home next month. *narrows eyes*

Tonight: ate meat for the first time in two weeks. This vegetarian thing is working out very well for me, because I haven't even been tempted to lapse. But when I decided to do it, I knew I would make an exception for Pinguinos (best tacos pastor ever). Tonight was the night. The fifty dogs who live (in one house) just down the street from me have been freaking out very, very loudly and continuously for ten minutes now. I'd do something about it, but I have no idea how to say Shut the heck up before I turn you into dog tacos in Spanish.

It's been raining in Mexico since I got here. I think the weather is just trying to keep me from getting homesick by recreating my natural climate. I don't know. I wish it would stop. Under normal circumstances I love rain, but not when I'm trying to get a tan, kthnx ( Read more... )
