Doctor Who ramblings... for the sake of squee

Finally caught up with Doctor Who. The Dalek episode was seriously meh, full of lots of pointless running around and incomprehensible dialogue and what was up with Churchill? (What gives, Mark Gatiss?) But then the two-parter afterwards was made of awesome and freaky, with a side order of squee. Blink is my most favorite episode of all time, the one that I use to introduce people to the show, and these two... let's just say I'm really looking forward to having all my little DW acolytes sit down together. We're in for a group freak-out, ladies and gentlemen.

Irrationally pleased with Eleven/Amy, considering that before Matt Smith came along I was just wanting them to have an ugly Doctor that no one could possibly crush on. Because I love Ten, and David Tennant, but the ongoing theme of "Everyone snogs the Doctor!" was driving me crazy. Well, we got a kind of ugly Doctor, but everybody digs him anyway. And I'm okay with that.

Syd and Cam did actually watch the first two episodes, and despite all the moaning about how they would remain forever loyal to Ten and would never, ever watch the show after he regenerated... Eleven was a hit, pretty much right off the bat. At least from the time he started spitting out food.

There is much meta and discussion on the blatant crack-theme (no, really. There's a theme of crack) and the subtler clues (which are so subtle I'm not quite sure if they're actually clues. They could just be set-dressers on crack. See what I did there?) but what I want to know is, are all these echoes of Ten going somewhere? Because it sounds like he's ghosting. Will he try to stage a full-on takeover of Eleven's body? Think about all the Doctors waking up and deciding they weren't quite done yet. This show could take MPS to a whole new level.
