Let's see here... quite a bit to report on.
I went to bed around 2:30am last night and was exhausted so it was wonderful to sleep in late this morning. Yes, that is worth reporting. :-)
My boss approached me last week and asked how I enjoyed working so far. I told her that I enjoy it a lot more than I had originally expected I would upon accepting the temp job. She then said that they are going to make me an offer for a permanent position at the company. I was thrilled to hear it and the starting starting salary she quoted me is very appealing but since the company is so small I'd need to learn more about their benefits and such before making any type of decision. I told her that I am in the process of looking into an internship opportunity at a marketing agency that I've been corresponding with. Since this job was originally set to go until July-ish I wanted to have something lined up in case it stayed temporary. I told her that I'd keep her updated on things since everything is up in the air at this point anyway but I wanted her to know. She's really nice and I've enjoyed working with both her and my coworker a lot. The days are really busy so they go by quickly and I could see myself working there for awhile. I'm not sure if I could see it turning into a "career" per se but since the company is so small I would love to see if I could help to create and expand their marketing efforts and improve their super low-budget-looking website.
I interviewed with someone from HR at the marketing agency last Friday and she discussed the internship opportunity a bit with me. It's pretty exclusive so they're only taking a few people that they hope to then hire on at the end of the internship in September. The program is pretty hardcore and would definitely take a lot of work but it'd definitely give me great experience. I made it through the first interview and received a call last night setting up my final interview on Monday night. They're doing them after hours since they're so busy during the day. She said she'd let me know Tuesday whether or not they will be moving forward. Stay tuned!
I bought a car!! :-) I told Kendra that it's my old car's resurrected turbo blue twin. After looking at a couple different cars I decided on one last night that had a bit more miles but was able to negotiate the price down about $1500! Yay for month-end. I wrote a check and signed the contract contingent upon it being inspected by my beloved mechanic on Monday. I'm pretty sure it'll check out fine but just to be safe...
I finally met up with Jon later than expected for our "date night" but it happened. We went to a late-night happy hour and had a lovely time as usual. Then we came back and had a relaxing rest of the night on the couch curled up watching tv. Sigh... I'm really looking forward to us not having to commute home at the end of the night from each other's houses.
Well I'm off to workout a bit. I'm at the lowest weight I've been at in a long long time but I haven't exercised for way too long so I think it's just because my muscle is going away. It is much too lovely outside to stay in too so I might try to lay outside later if I can. A nice lazy Saturday.
I need to make an authentic Mexican dish for my food group Sunday night. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas, let me know! I'm thinking dessert of some sort....
