DEXCON 11

DEXCON 11 was the shiznit. I mean really. We had some fabo guests, an awesomely full Dealers Room and to quote multiple people, "The Best Hallway LARP EVER."

I got to spend and insane amount of time chilling at the Firestorm, Inc table with Jonathan and El of 'Laughing Pan' (soon to ElCo!, damnit!) talking about game companies and product lines. I got to play 'Suitors' with Mom and totally kicked everyones ass because I am awesome. Then to prove exactly how awesome a daughter I am, I bought Mom garb, which she promptly wore the rest of the day (and looked great I might add). I also had the pleasure of a 20 minute conversation on garb with Random Blonde Chickie from VA about how to fluff the boobies properly in a bodice.

I also got in a little bit of Avatar, but mainly in the GM sense, which still rocked (There is nothing like playing an idiot Scottsman with a big ass crossbow and a hot pink Razor phone). There was of course the obligatory Stairway Meeting which was also nifty.

Next year I very much need to SCHEDULE a time to actually PLAY in the CyberGen LARP because really… playing hyped up children is always fun.

All in all it was a great con and when I wandered downstairs on Sunday afternoon I was shocked to discover IT WAS ALL GONE. While I was busy packing up the room filled with entirely too many clothes and a disgruntled cat, the con was effortlessly packed up into the truck. I totally 100% love and adore our staff because really it was freakin' painless.

There was the incident when the Non-Gamers pretended to be deaf but that’s why we have Channing, Dennis Jr.'s friend who is actually deaf.
"Channing, you are the hero of the con."
"I am fucking Batman."
It's a shame that I only learned that it was cool to write messages to him late on Saturday night. Oh well. [Memo to me: Learn more Sign Language from Channing]

It's sad that DEXCON is already over and it feels like it should STILL be happening. I keep wandering into the Living Room expecting Vinny to be cursing about some sort of code relating to the schedule or someone registering incorrectly. Though the upside is the fact that Vinny is actually around now and will talk about things OTHER than event listings. Yay no more scheduling Widow!

This weekend we head BACK to Jersey for Teem and Renee's wedding. Wahoo, more dressing up!
