Why? Because after reading the section on Julie and Julia about Julie killing LIVE LOBSTERS they come in with fingers as eye stalks and hands like… lobster hands. Look at me, I'm so wigged out that I couldn't remember that lobster hands are called claws.
I am officially traumatized and I'm NEVER EATING MEAT AGAIN.
GAAAAH! SHE CUT UP THE LOBSTER WHILE IT WAS TWITCHING!! There was BLOOD ON HER CUTTING BOARD! Dear God. And we're not talking normal blood. Oh no, it was green blood because lobsters are not normal and therefore MUST have green blood. And she goes on to talk about removing the sand pouches. I swear, I did not need to know about lobster anatomy or how you need to slice it for french cooking. Hell, I had to opt out of cutting up a earthworm in my Biology class!
*shudder*
If I never hear the words 'eye stalks' again, I'll die happy.
BTW, if you haven't picked up Julie and Julia by Julie Powell, you should. Because it's awesome, lobster issues not withstanding.
