while in germany, i did a lot of reading. a lot of english language books got left there since the 2 american project directors were there for 6 months last year. one of these books was
the book thief by marcus zusak. oh my god. i'm not sure i can express how good this book is. i would recommend it to everyone to read. it's about a girl growing up in WWII germany and it alludes to all the horrible-ness that goes on but it doesn't hit you over the head with it. it's sad but not depressing. it's beautifully written; the story drags you in. i had a hard time putting it down at night in order to go to sleep. so now i'm a zusak junkie and need to read the rest of his books immediately and i recommend going and getting the book thief and reading it right away.
