Oh how I love Mississippi State
I am so content attending mississippi state. Going to a school that is probably 8-9 times bigger than where I did my undergraduate work is quite a pleasant shift. Every day I drive onto the campus and see a more "college" like atmosphere, I just feel like I am where I need to be. No offense to those who attended, but the W is basically just glorified high school (in terms of the social scene anyway). The education is decent...depending on the program you are in. I think most of my mathematics classes were adequate (especially for the money). However, for whatever reason, I just didn't click with the students who attended the W.
Mississippi State is a completely different story. I've met people from all over the country (and the world). People are interested in current events and sports. Maybe I'm just happier because I'm attending a Division I school with an athletics program...I dunno. My wife constantly makes fun of me for thinking Mississippi State is the place to be. She's all like, "You obviously haven't ever been to USM." If anyone is considering graduate studies, I would strongly recommend Mississippi State.
