Holy Crap! What a week! I started with 1 job and ended up with 3 plus 3 summer classes. Here's how it all went down. (this space bar is really stupid....it eithers spaces twice or notat all. See!? Anyway) I went in for an interview for an office position on campus to supplement my pay at the library. I got the job and was supposed to start training this morning. This did not happen because yesterday around 5:30 I got a call from Mike at FastSell telling me that I got the internship! I was like, you're kidding... I really didn't think I got it because he showed me the stack of resumes from all the other marketing students and I was like "shiiiit." They only hired 3 people instead of 5 out of...a lot! So I must have done something right.
The internship is basically for an eBay middleman company. People bring in their stuff, we sell it for them on eBay and we take 30-40%. My job: Talk to customers about how much they want for their stuff, research how much their stuff is actually going for (see if it's worth posting), taking pictures, writing details descriptions and listing it to eBay. I'm so excited. A break from the library is going to be really nice and an internship in advertising if priceless. The internship can be extended to fall if I want and the pay is pretty good so I might have some decisions to make.
Ok so new plan: Work 20 hours a week, take one class online, one in the morning for Summer I. Then for Summer II continue working 20 hours a week with one class in the afternoon. I start training Friday morning. I put in notice to the library and told the other office the bad news today. Summer classes start Monday. *sigh* This is going to be a crazy summer.
The reason I am taking classes is to get my GPA so I'll be more competitive when I reapply to Eller. You only get to apply twice, so I'm GRO-ing a nasty accounting class and statistics. I'm also taking an easy INDV online with my mom just as an easy A. It's a requirement for my mom but I just need the grade booster. It looks pretty simple and the reading isn't difficult at all.
Ok well that's it's for now. Call me people!
